I am interested in using computation as a mechanism for understanding how biology works, particularly how neural systems transform molecular signals into perception and behavior. My research goal is to build computational pipelines that enable the interpretation of biological systems.

I currently focus on olfaction as a model system, where the brain must decode an enormous chemical landscape using an evolutionarily expanded repertoire of receptors. My work examines how olfactory receptors have evolved and functionally diversified, integrating bioinformatics, evolutionary analysis, and machine learning to unravel the protein–ligand interactions underlying sensory encoding.
