We combine comparative genomics, phylogenomics and single-cell transcriptomics to understand how molecular and cellular complexity — especially of the nervous system — emerges and evolves.

CGLab is based at IMBB-FORTH, Heraklion, Crete — part of the Evolution, Development & Cell Biology division.

Teaching

Data analysis is an essential part of modern biological research. We coordinate the institute-wide IMBB Data Analysis Course — a hands-on introduction to Python, data analysis, and computational biology for wet-lab researchers — and participate in graduate programs at the University of Crete.
